Pride Run Update
The Pride Run was a huge success! Over 60 runners and walkers took part in the Pride Run as part of Vancouver's Pride Week activities and raised over $12,000 for the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation. This included a dollar for dollar match of donations collected of up to $5,000 from TELUS. View pictures from the event.

4th Annual Vancouver Front Runners Pride Run
Got Pride?!? Help support the Dr. Peter Centre by running 10K or walking 4K in the 4th Annual Vancouver Front Runners Pride Run. Prizes for the Top 3 Male and Female finishers in 10K race. And other door prizes to be won!
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Dr. Peter Centre. Please also consider making a donation. Donations made up until August 2 in support of Team TELUS will be matched by TELUS up to $5,000. Donate today and make your donation count for twice as much.

Knock Out AIDS: A Charity Dodgeball Tournament
Grab a bunch of friends and sign up for Knock Out AIDS, a charity dodgeball tournament to raise funds for One Day For AIDS. No previous experience required. Rules will be explained at the start of the evening. A "knock out" tournament will be preceded by round-robin games. Proceeds from the tournament will be given to the Canadian Red Cross to support HIV/AIDS projects in southern Africa. Learn more about how your support for the Canadian Red Cross will make a difference in the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS.

Filmed over three years, WE ARE TOGETHER tells the remarkable and moving story of a group of children who use music to overcome hardship and loss. It is the story of an orphanage, unlike one you've ever seen before, and of the drive of these remarkable young singers and their teachers to make it to London for a series of concerts.
Life has not been easy for 12-year-old Slindile, her siblings and her friends at the Agape Orphanage in South Africa, where most of the children have lost their parents to AIDS. But they are still kids and teenagers, bashful around boys, squabbling with each other. And when they lift their voices in song, something extraordinary happens.
As the kids at Agape orphanage continue to train for what they hope will be their big break, Slindile and her siblings are hit with more hard news - their oldest brother Sifiso, who has been sick for months, has AIDS.
With unforgettable kids, soaring music and a plot full of surprises, WE ARE TOGETHER arrives as a stirring and uplifting theatrical documentary.

This film, set in Goa, a small coastal state in India between 1989 and 1994, tells the story of Nikhil Kapoor, a state champion swimmer. Adored by his parents and his sister, Anamika, everything seems perfect in Nikhil’s life until a day that changes everything.
Nikhil is arrested and kept in forced isolation because he is found to be HIV positive. Rejected by his parents and deserted by his friends, only his sister and boyfriend, Nigel, stand by him during his darkest hours.
The film is about a family that falls apart in the face of crisis, a sister’s unconditional love for her brother, a love that withstands social disapproval, and a man’s struggle for acceptance and his dignity.
While the characters in the film are fictional, it accurately reflects the stigma faced by people who were HIV-positive at the time. The Goa public health act allowed the government to isolate people who were HIV-positive. This is also the first mainstream Indian film where the main protagonist is a homosexual.
