One Day For AIDS Fundraiser:
Local Volunteers Give a Day to Raise Funds
On Saturday, November 26, nearly 40 local volunteers took to the streets of Downtown Vancouver to give "ONE DAY" to the cause of HIV/AIDS. The volunteers who all wore bright red Santa hats and scarves, sold red ribbons - the internationally recognized symbol of AIDS awareness - and handed out flyers promoting the One Day For AIDS campaign in advance of World AIDS Day on December 1. In just a mere four hours, the volunteers raised $2,164 that will go towards funding Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders HIV/AIDS relief projects.
Thank you to all our volunteers and a big thank you as well to Nancy Armitage and AIDS Vancouver for providing us with red ribbons for our fundraiser.
Please contact us if you are interested in organizing your own fundraiser in your school, place of worship, or community. Limited supplies are available.
