Here are a few tools and resources to help you get involved with the campaign and help spread the word.

Films

Film is a powerful tool for communication. The following films are excellent for starting discussions amongst friends and colleagues about the issues surrounding HIV/AIDS. Host a film night and show one of the following films. If you have a venue (i.e. college, church, etc.) and you would like someone from One Day For AIDS to come and make a presentation or do a Q & A session following the film, please don't hesitate to contact us.

My brother…Nikhil is a full length feature film from India set in the late 1980's. It focuses on the stigma that a young man faces after being diagnosed with HIV.

We Are Together is a documentary that tells the story of a group of children at an orphanage in South Africa who use music to overcome hardship and loss.

A Closer Walk is a documentary film narrated by Will Smith and Glenn Close, depicts humankind's confrontation with the global HIV/AIDS pandemic. More than 50 men and women are profiled from all regions of the world in this powerful and educational film.

Rent is a film adaptation of the famous Broadway musical. It follows the lives of a group of friends (some of which are HIV+) living in New York City in the 1980's. It is both entertaining and moving and portrays what it would've been like to live with HIV/AIDS in that particular social milieu.

Yesterday is a South African film that was nominated for an Oscar in 2004. It follows the story of a village woman who finds out that she is HIV+. In spite of her own illness, she must find the inner strength to provide for both her daughter and husband who is also sick. The plot is simple but the film does an excellent job of portraying the realities and issues facing HIV+ women in Africa today.

3 Needles is a poignant film that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2005. Three stories, which offer differing perspectives on the AIDS pandemic, are featured in this anthology drama.
